Bella Sin Interview by Royce Icon

For starters, tell us a bit about yourself. What kind of things are you into? What keeps you going?

Well let me see here. Ok! The name Is Bella Sin or Beautiful Sin…
I have been doing modeling for some time now and I have been having so much fun with it and not to mention have met some very interesting people thru out this amazing journey. I’m also a burlesque performer; I have been doing that for about 2 years…As the “Lead Pussy” for Le Femme Mystique Burlesque in Ohio.

Now Let’s Get Personal!
I’m Mexican born and raised. I moved to the states when I was 13.
Denver Colorado actually, Then I moved to Ohio in late 2003.
I’m into a lot really, As any woman, fashion is a must with me…Make-Up is not just not make up is more of an Art!! Music mostly local bands, burlesque, poetry, reading, jewelry making, Fashion Design, Gun Movies, Chess, Horror Movies, I LOVE TO DANCE.. just to make it clear!!
I’m into the old and new … revival!! Antiques, Art and then some!!
Supporting local artist, bands and companies.

What keeps me going? At times that is a hard question because it applies to so many faces in my life, but in my personal is my family. But what keeps me going in the modeling world would have to be the statement myself and other models have been trying to make. I look to inspire that girl or woman out there that does not think that much about herself and have her get some confidence… Hey if I can do it so can you!

How did you get into fetish modeling? Was it something you always wanted to do, or did it happen more by chance? How long have you been modeling now?

I don’t really label my self one type of model I love to do any kind of shoots.
My mother always told me you take really good pictures, you know when family tells you that you just blow it off. It was not till one of my boyfriends took a picture of me and totally made me take a long hard look at myself. It was then that I realize I can do something more then a pretty picture. I had my first shoot with Jason Noble and he is the one I credit for getting me stared.

It was some thing I can say I wanted to do, but never did have the guts for!
As I said I was a heavy at the time… but that changed quickly. I believe that there is something I have to achieve and chance is never something real!! I wanted to and I did!!

I have modeled for over 3 years now actually! WOW! I can remember my first shoot… I was so nervous. .giggles!

Tell us a bit about your burlesque troop. What do you like about the
burlesque medium, and are you at all inspired by the burlesque dancers
or the past?

Le Femme Mystique Burlesque is base out of Akron Ohio, It was the idea of my friend Jasmine and myself. We have been here for 2 years and I can tell you all my girls are amazing bless their hearts for putting up with me. This burlesque troupe was created not like all the others… We wanted to turn old into new… but thru all my research and work, I found that we had to make it different something that will appeal to the public today.

We do old music and new, in one of our shows you can hear Frank Sinatra, Nina Simore, Jazz, Soul, Nine Inch Nails, Dresden Dolls, David Rose, Go-Go and then some.
I know its and odd mix but it works out nicely.

We are modern schoolgirls with old school charms that bring an exciting burlesque performance to you. We are here to let you in on glamour and sexiness, charm and beauty, love and class from real women that enjoy our curves almost as much as you will! We will educate you on old school charms and darling beauties. We accomplish all of this with our clothes on.

Our show consists of tradition with an edge. Our full figured dancers/model will make your heart race with every shimmy. Still fairly new to the industry, we are looking to start out slow and easy so we can build to an explosion, unlike the mainstream that rush in fast and hard (we all know fast and hard is fun …but it’s better to start as friendly lovers)!

Le Femme Mystique Burlesque uses a wide musical selection to bring the traditional 30’s style tease from history to pop with our own unique flair. Amazing girls and showmanship are the hallmark of Le Femme Mystique Burlesque. Also I’m sure by now you are saying… The is wrong in French!! What? You can’t spell? No, No, No!! This is why I personally misspelled it.

The Name: We are flattered by your concerns and to lay them aside here is the scoop: “Le” is the pejorative term meaning “the”. As you are aware (I’m sure) each language has many different dialects. Due to the number of French dialects involved and probability that “La” would be largely mispronounced by Americans (la is pronounced “lahh”, le is pronounced “luhh”) we went with the neutral rather than the feminine to reduce the “dumbass” potential - in other words, “the feminine mystique” as an entity. Eventually we are prepared to address that grammatical issue but for now we feel it’s the right decision.

In other words, no we’re not retarded, yes we did it deliberately, and it is, in fact, possible for women to possess both brains and beauty. —

We are looking to change minds while we have you in a trace from our hips shaking.
Some people have told me I’m a “Fancy” Stripper, Which is not it… burlesque is the art of the tease… the art of bump and grind… being sexy and beautiful with out being nude… the fact that you have class and are paying tribute to some of the many woman that went thru that stage to make it possible for you to be on there now. Don’t get me wrong here I still love strippers!! And I will say YOU GO GIRLS!!

Yes… by now you know I’m very inspired by the old burlesque dancers!!
Every one can say Betty Page but I have some what of a list here… tee-hee!!
Mind you these are not just people I admire… I look up to
them and thank them for what they have done to make this possible for me. I have spent countless hours looking up their names… Looking at their pictures… Getting to know the story of these people.
They are an inspiration to me!!

See I told you it was a list!

You’ve described yourself as a “plus-sized” model. Have you ever
experienced any turbulence with photographers or any other people due
to your body type? Also, how do you feel about female body standards
in the media and popular culture?

I have actually started to use “Voluptus”, I have experience things like this with photographers, one in particular that will remain nameless but he said to me “I don’t work with “FAT” models. Sorry!! That made me so mad… I was like how dare you say that to me, let alone another woman? I was out for blood there for a while.

But then I kind of got the point… You have to work extra when you are a Voluptus model.. I often find we have better facial expressions and hand and feet coordination along with posture … we have to know these things, we have to hide imperfections that other regular models do not have. Regular models have the, “I can stand and I look grand and beautiful!!” No… I can’t do that… I have to actually pose to make the shot work out.. and I will do anything in my power to get that shot!
If you have confidence in your self and you know that you are doing great things people don’t try to pull you down… but show them that little piece of weakness you might have and they will drag you down. I don’t fell bad that people call me Fat! I see them all as ignorant… at times I say… “Have you looked at the mirror lately or did you break it again?”
I have learned to come back with punch lines that are respectful and funny! But you have to, someone might like you one day and the next day be calling you all the names under the sun and then some. Don’t make fun of people that are Voluptus, Plus Size, Over Weight… Some of those people are more beautiful inside then you can think.

Female body standards In the media and popular culture… I have a big problem with them actually!! When you say that you have to be a specific weight, height, size, color please!!! We are not perfect and I hate to break any ones dreams of grand perfection .. We WILL NEVER BE PERFECT! We are but humans and we are all beautiful in our own way.

Look with in yourself and find who you are and enhance that, Yeah!! Really it’s not that hard. You have to keep in mind we live in such a place today that image is everything and if you don’t have it you aren’t anything.

I hate to say but even in the alternative world we have it.
There is a small but strong army of women that are trying to change this and I know some of them. Don’t feed into it! You need to know that you are beautiful and don’t listen to those people on the TV… Yes is nice to be thin but you know it’s not mandatory and necessary . You are as beautiful as you want to be and you know that better then i. Admire, Create, Make It Your Own.-Bella Sin

You’ve done various different kinds of modeling shoots, from more
artistic oriented to fashion based. What kinds of shoots do you like
the most?

It’s really hard to say I have a favorite one! They are all different in a way, but there was one that stands out the most out of all. It was the first time shooting with a female photographer by myself. Jen from Studio J made me feel like no other photographer… she has what I’m looking for in a photographer. She has a very bright mind. As you might see in some of the sets I sent in. Some of the greater shots are “Senorita Sin” and “Fallen.”

I have never seen myself thru a woman’s eyes before. It was a welcome change.
I think I like all the shoots I do. They are all different and the way the photographer looks at me is what matters to me… I know it’s a picture but I want it to be his/her vision with my twist, but anything that involves corsets, heels and make up with a dash of odd posing .. I’m there!!

Who are your favorite photographers that you’ve worked with so far?

Yet again another list,

Jason Noble from Noble Images
Jen from Studio J
Uncle Dreg
Dennis Surrener
After 6 Photography
KRN
Arrested Photography

Have you ever experienced any shoots that were particularly horrible?

Yes!! I will leave it at that…

How do you feel about the fetish “scene” in general?

There are so many variations of the scene now of days and I happen to enjoy all variations of it. There are different people in every one and the music changes as well. But really at times I wonder where this might go. If you pay attention to the everyday world the scene has influence everything greatly. Not to mention it has not been in its underground layer… Every one is a participant and an on looker.

When it comes to having feelings for it.. Yes I do have a love for it deep inside this little black heart of mine. Why? When I was first introduce to the scene… I was in love!! People liked and did things I had enjoyed by myself. Keep in mind it did not fit every well in my family that I was walking around with big boots, black eyeliner, fishnets and big hair.

When I came upon it I felt I had much to research about it. So I hit the books and found so much rich history behind it. The first thing that always has my attention is the music. I love the music and I can’t wait to hear more!!! The Fashion was the second thing to take me by surprise…not to mention the culture.
I love the scene… I can’t wait to see what it will evolve to next.

Do you have any advice for beginning fetish models?

You have to be confident, true to your self, know what you stand for.
You don’t have to do what millions of others have done, think of inventive ways to come up with photo sets. Make them your own!!

Don’t go alone to shoots; take some one with you NEVER EVER GO ALONE!!
Make sure you look at the photographer’s history, talk to models that have shot with the photographer before, be selective in the photographers and shoots you do.

Make sure you are well prepared when you go to the shoots not to mention, bring everything and the kitchen sink. You never know what you might need or come up with when you have all that you own. Well clothing wise!!

Learn about the photo release laws and forms, know to ask for them and READ THEM!!!
If you don’t agree with some thing on the form, cross it out… make sure you talk to them and tell them what you want. Yes it might be Time For Prints but you are still the model you still should make your voice heard you are not just a pretty thing… You have a brain!

If you shoot outside make sure you don’t shoot somewhere you are not familiar with. Have the photographer come to you and take him to places you know and are familiar with, also make sure you tell some one where you go and what you are doing. Safety is always a must, Get all the contact information from the photographer and also make sure to tell them when you need your pictures by.

The most important thing to know is have fun with it!!
Practice when you are at home by your self, be skilled in Make-Up and hair- Wigs are great to have for shoots, also make sure you are ready with your make up and hair when you get there. Make sure you act professional and not to mention work hard to make every shot good!! Take direction well, come up with ideas and always make sure to thank your photographer after you are done. You need him as much as he needs you!!!

If you have confidence it will come thru the camera no matter what size you are and what you look like make sure you always feel confident because it will come thru in the picture!!! Also remember to network and do not act like a diva. Do research and talk back and forth with the photographer about ideas and outfits.
Really if you are interested look into what you want to do and then go for it!!!

What are some of your kinks or fetishes, if you have any?

Yes I do actually!! Oh… I think every one does.
But mine are some what particular; eyeliner on a boy is quite interesting.
Men with all black dress clothing, not to mention bass players, giggles.
I love men in uniform… that is a paramedic uniform… they save lives with those hands baby!!! But really the most amazing fetish is restraint and blind fold, but at times not on me. Also feather tickle you know (*eyebrow raises*), Long hair at times is a great way to get my attention.. not long like short but well groomed.

I also happen to enjoy being in charge … I love the idea of top and torture!!
Anything that says body paint in the label is interesting as well!!!

I know many models get some creepy stalkers and weird-ass emails. Have
you experienced anything you’d like to share that was particularly
creepy/ funny/ weird?

Well I get many, but some are just dawn right confusing and far more then odd.
I can share some of the things I have been emailed.

How do you feel about birth control?

Yes, every one should be on it.
I actually believe it should be free!!!!!
Every woman has a choice in her life and this is one we all should be for, I think birth control is amazing, Men should also take there own respective birth control.

Educate your self!! Find books about sex and other topics, avoid the issue and protect your self. Also go to the doctor and get tested, no matter what there is always a risk!!
There are millions of kids out there that are homeless and have no parents, choose to adopt and to become a happy parent. When you are ready!!

What do you think about downloading, MP3s and the RIAA?

I really like to go out and support the artist and buy the CD and go to the concerts, I really don’t like to download because it takes me forever. But if that is the only way that I will get the song then I will make sure I have a paid service and everything is legal. Music should be free yes, but we should not take advantage of it. They have worked so hard to make this happen…. Don’t over do it!!

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) They are trying to protect the rights of other recording artist, how would you like it if some one stole something you have been working on for years.
I have no problem with it, but I do think is a little silly how some times associations can take things to far.

What is your opinion on the current state of American society?

When you are awake at 4:43am is not always the best idea to talk about The American Society, All I can say is “Shut the darn TV and go have dinner with the family”. I don’t think there is such a thing as family values, Family is important and will always be there… but I don’t really see a lot of that going on here. Sitting in front of the TV is not a very good idea of parenting or at that spending time with your family.

Also the fact that children have been growing up so fast, I mean shit!! I saw a 12 year old that is some what well into growing in her body, but excuse the language she was dressed like a whore. She complemented on my outfit and I happen to say “how old are you?” she told me her age and I told go put something that covered her up and to take the dolls out of her closet. I’m amazed that in the dinner conversation that she was having with her mother was about how she wants to have sex with her boyfriend that is 16. The mother said… “Fuck his brains out…hunny” Hello!! I’m going nuts?
The kids need parents not friends!!

As an immigrant I have a very different look at this society, where I come from there is no such thing as safety at times. You have to keep in mind in Mexico that American dream is glory and that is why so many people come here.

I think that this is a country made by immigrants; I see them as day to day life.
They come here to work to help there families… why don’t we lend them a hand after all they are only human as well!!

I don’t see why there is a war going on, there is so many people that have passed and died. Family members, brothers, sisters, friends, husband and mothers. There has to be a rational solution. Really since 9-11 everything has gone to hell!! But I’m sure the people in charge of this country are trying there best to protect every thing that the United States represents and stands for. Don’t forget is the people who shape there country!!

If you knew the world was ending in a week, what would you do?

Find Trent Reznor and make him play me an unplug version of “Sin”, Eat Ice Cream, Spend time with my family, Do Trent Reznor, Watch Britney and Paris go at it!! Look for the meaning of life. Down a bottle of cuevo in 10 minutes, Dance till I break my hip, make love to someone, tell every one that I love them, Jump in a creek, take off my top and run thru the street screaming in Spanish.

Wear pink and take a picture, make a person happy, swim naked, join the polar bear club, do one last shoot with Trent Reznor, tell my mother every thing I have done and why, find Waldo, find Bigfoot, make waldo and Bigfoot fall in love, Meet up with my friends and party till the morning comes, Hold my little one thru the last day.

Ask what the hell is William Hung doing in the music industry, look for a real Transylvanian to kiss, roll a million bowling balls down a hill, run around with a shirt that said “I rule you suck”.. Wait I already do that!!!
I think I would do any thing I can do… but as you see, I would like to talk to Trent Reznor for a long time. Really I just think the man is a genius.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I would want to be able to move things with my mind and not to mention control time, that would be so amazing. Can you think of the possibilities!! I will never be late, I can do a lot at the same time…. Ahahhah!! Heaven!! I think I would also like to have mind reading powers…that would be cool as well!!

What are some things you hate about other people?

People that are jealous and like to spread rumors, then talk to you like you are there best friend. Those need to go!! You have to be true and welcome every one nicely, but people now of days can’t be trusted some of them are after what they can get.
So word of caution, be careful!.

What are some things you hate about yourself?

oh god!! There must be another list some where here… hmmm
I’m way to short!! I forget things that don’t interest me, shinny things and that I have to much clothing in my house. Giggles!! Also I can’t manage to sit still for a moment… that needs to stop!!

Is there anything else you would like to say or plug?
